October 17, 2024 - CAP4GI goes Berlin: Yesterday, Wednesday, some members of the CAP4GI team met in Berlin, first with representatives of the German Farmers' Association (DBV) and then with the Chairman of the Committee on Food and Agriculture in the German Bundestag. The aim of the meeting was to discuss the interim results of the project.

At the DBV, Christian Gaebel (Head of Agricultural and Funding Policy) and Steffen Pingen (Head of Environmental/Nature Conservation Policy) welcomed the project team to the DBV office. Anja Nußbaum (Thuringian Farmers' Association and member of the CAP4GI Advisory Board) and Horst Wenk (State Farmers' Association in Baden-Württemberg) joined the meeting online. This was followed by a meeting in the nearby Bundestag with Hermann Färber (CDU, Chair of the Agriculture Committee).

At both meetings, the project team first gave a short presentation on the background, content and initial results of CAP4GI, followed by a friendly and constructive exchange. The DBV representatives were eager to see the final results of the project. Hermann Färber was delighted with the project's perspective, which sees agriculture as an integral part of the solution.

The project team provided some food for thought, got some good impulses and is already looking forward to the next exchange.
