Nature-based Solutions and Climate Change Adaptation in Partnership with Agriculture
The climate crisis presents agriculture with one of the greatest challenges of our time. On the one hand, farms are severely affected by extreme weather events. On the other hand, they can make a significant contribution to climate protection. Agricultural businesses therefore play an important role in the climate adaptation strategy, and nature-based solutions rely on synergies with agricultural use.
In order to counteract climate change and preserve ecosystems in the long term, the foundations of agriculture, such as healthy soils and water supply, must be secured. Resource-conserving approaches must be advanced and become an affordable standard. At the same time, effective measures are needed to preserve and promote biodiversity.
The Conference on Agriculture 2024 will address this area of conflict by discussing and reflecting with experts from practice, science, associations and politics: How can agriculture become fit for the future in times of climate crisis? What new collaborations can pave the way? Hybrid event with interactive livestream.
