Opening of the exhibition „Planet A* - Actions for Biodiversity“

Did you know that around 48,000 animals, 9,500 plants and 14,400 fungal species live with us in Germany? That a tree produces 178 kilograms of oxygen and stores 283 kilograms of carbon? And that services such as clean water and fresh air, which nature provides to us free of charge, can be calculated, but hardly replaced when they are eliminated?

Discover in the exhibition "Planet A* - Actions for Biodiversity" why we need biodiversity, which factors endanger it, and what each of us can contribute to stop the loss of species. The traveling exhibition is a project of the BMBF Research Initiative for the Conservation of Biodiversity (FEdA). The bilingual German-English exhibition informs - concisely, strikingly and interactively - about the most important facts on the topic of species extinction, presents research and approaches to solutions, and calls for reflection and discussion through its many participatory elements. In this way, awareness is to become action and an exhibition is to become a movement.

In addition to the first, exclusive look at the exhibition, we invite you to enjoy musical entertainment by DJ and nature enthusiast Dominik Eulberg - and delicious snacks with special information content. Prof. Dr. Klement Tockner, Director General of the Senckenberg Society for Nature Research, Dr. Brigitte Franzen, Museum Director at the Senckenberg Research Institute and Natural History Museum Frankfurt and Prof. Dr. Volker Mosbrugger, spokesman of FEdA will open the evening.
